What's Up!
Hey dudes!
SunSmart Week starts on Monday 14 November 2011. SunSmart Week is all about reminding ourselves to be SunSmart while we're enjoying the outdoors.
This is super important between September and April, even on cloudy days. That's when the sun is at it's strongest and there is the biggest risk of getting sunburnt.
So what will you do when you're out in the playground, at the beach, on the boat, swimming ot the river, picnicing or just enjoying being outside with your friends and family?
SLIP...on some cover-up clothing and into the shade
SLOP...on some suncreen before going outside
SLAP...on a wide brimmed hat
and WRAP on some sunglasses
I'm visiting a bunch of Te Kuiti schools this week where all the teachers and students have decided to make an effort to be really SunSmart. I'll be presenting Otewa, St Joesphs, Pukenui, Rangitoto, Tu Kuiti Primary and Central Park schools with their official Cancer Society SunSmart Accreditation and doing my Slip, Slop, Slap and Wrap tour and dance. See you soon Te Kuiti!
